I’ve neglected this page for over a month. Sure, I was in China for 2 weeks. And I had pretty bad jetlag that included dizziness and nausea, but I still feel guilty. I’m going to do my best to post more regularly. The shopping in China was awesome, though I really didn’t have enough time to do it properly. I love that the stores are open super late there. My mom and I even shopped past midnight a few times. Anyhow, I do have a few pictures I would like post, but I need to sort throught 1700+ pics (yeah, I went a little nuts).
I’ve been back in NY for over 2 weeks and have only gone to 2 sample sales so far. One was the Kenneth Cole sale at Clothingline. The shoes were$40 per pair and $100 for 3. That’s a decent price for leather shoes. But I thought the selection was kind of boring (at least the ones in my size), so I didn’t buy anything. Today, I went to the Melissa Shoes Sample sale, which I found out about through the SugarRockCatWalk Blog. The bloggers on the site have been raving about the shoes, so I just had to take a look myself.
I have a tendency to wear out my leather sandals during the summer. So the idea of plastic shoes intrigued me. Plus, the PVC is supposed to be hypoallergenic, recyclable and super flexible and you won’t ruin them if you get showered on by a sudden summer storm. Enough with the reasoning…they’re pretty cute shoes (and they smell nice too!). It was a rainy day so there weren’t too many people at the sale. The prices were differentiated by colored stickers on the boxes. The price range was $25 – $50. I didn’t have a lot of time, but I wound up buying 2 pairs. Well, actually I bought 2 of the Desire + Triton kitten heels in black and silver for $25 each. The sizes run a little large so I bought them in 7. The one bad thing about buying shoes at a sample sale is that you can’t return them. They seemed really comfortable when I tried them on and I hope they really are as comfortable as people say. Looking forward to wearing my pretty recyclable plastic shoes tomorrow 😀
