China pictures (Part I)

I’ve been putting off editing my 1700+ China pictures because it’s just so overwhelming. But I have to start somewhere, so I will start with these 3. The first 2 are of me in Beijing’s Summer Palace, which is where the emperor would stay during the hot Beijing summers. The palace is actually a huge and beautiful park with many temples and pavilions. One area was named Suzhou street after the city of Suzhou (sometimes called the Venice of China). Anyhow, my family and I paid 21 RMB per person to wear costumes modelled after the traditional royal dress. My mom chose the queen outfit, my brother chose the emperor’s outfit, and I chose to be a princess…hehe. The gigantic floral headress is my favorite part of that ensemble. And of course, I have to do the peace sign since I’m in Asia. The other picture is of a woman riding her moped on the streets of Beijing. I love how feminine she looks with the bow in her hair, floral dress, and metallic wedges. You definitely would not see someone so dressed up in NY riding their bike. Anyhow, more pictures to come…slowly but surely. 🙂
