Spicing up the winter wardrobe

I had stopped by the Charlotte Ronson sample sale last week, not expecting to buy anything. However, I did need a nice wool coat, so I picked up the German officer coat from her Fall ’09 collection ($120, original retail $298 – althought I’ve seen $178 on 80spurple). I looked for it on the Charlotte Ronson site and noticed that the runway version has leather sleeves…nice! I wish mine had leather sleeves. I also saw that the coat was styled with a leather belt and matching brooches on the shoulder. Great idea which anyone could use to jazz up a plain winter coat! Can’t wait to try it The coat that I bought

The runway version

I bought this Guess knitted sweater at a Housing Works $20 a bag event a few months ago because it reminded me of Rodarte knits, but neater and less organic. I’m not a huge fan of turtle necks, so I decided to take a scissor and cut off the neck. Now the sweater is much more wearable.
