Sweet Home Alabama Event at Maysville NYC

When you think of food in the United States, Alabama is probably not the first state to pop into your mind.   But last week, I  had the pleasure of going on a culinary adventure featuring fresh Gulf seafood, Alabama produce and refreshing craft beer at Maysville NYC.  The Chef Kyle Knall, who was born and raised in Birmingham and learned from James Beard Award winner Chef Frank Stitt showcased some of the best tastes of Alabama.

If you’re a seafood fan you will surely love the food from Alabama.  We tasted delicious plump oysters flown from Alabama, Gulf Red Snapper, and deviled crab.  For non-seafood lovers, the delicious fresh heirloom tomato salad and slow smoked  short rib were a real treat.  We also tasted the Bell Chevre Goat’s Milk Cheese Cake which is a specialty dessert from Alabama.  If this is a sample of the cuisine in Alabama, I definitely wouldn’t mind taking a trip down south!
