Louis Vuitton held their show at Place Vendôme in the heart of Paris. The location was chosen since the new Maison Louis Vuitton will be constructed there; very close to the first boutique the company founder himself opened 150 years ago.
Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquière himself describes the collection as a modern interpretation of the Parisian Chic, however different than one might expect: With black leather, jagged seams, jazzy makeup, oversized shoulder pads und slim waist belts, some 80s vibes resonate with the drafts. The retro silhouettes are combined with metallic dresses and asymmetric styles. Ghesquière, who is an outspoken science-fiction fan, hence creates something that could be described as a retro- futuristic fashion. Nevertheless, the combinations appear soft, mature and chic.
